LET'S CELEBRATE WORLD GOA DAY - UK
2 Photo Albms with 41 and 140 photos can be viewed on the links below.

Dear Fiona & The Organising Committee
cc:To all friends who attended World Goa Day UK.

I wish to convey my Congratulations to you and all your committee members for putting together a fabulous programme to celebrate WORLD GOA DAY 10TH ANNIVERSARY 2010.

The days celebration commencing with Recitation of Rosary & Procession, Mass and Benediction was one of the highlights, and I cannot fail to mention the most talented choir pianist who produced sweet music with the lovely choir of other musicians and singers.

As for the Picnic that followed, everything went as planned with all the entertainment you scheduled from singing, dancing, sports events, workshop 1 Let's Speak Konkani and Adult workshop 2 Line dancing'.

(The 3 musicians who provided an active dance spot were just great and certainly had everyone dancing - Inacio Joao (Keyboard & Singer), Mario Fernandes (Guitar) and Fr Francis Rosario who accompanied them were a superb team.

Fr. Joe entertained greatly with his guitar playing and singing the Mandos, plus fronting the workshoop 1, Lets speak Konkani  was a treat with  everyone participating. Video clip to follow.

Young Perry as always giving 100% - belted out 'Proud to be a Goan' - Medley by Goans RUs, Waka Waka Dance by Natalie Fernandes, Jaliza Fernandes & Clarissa Coutinho, - Elvis Ron Coelho (appologies for accidentally cutting out your grand finish by stopping the CD player ). & Elvis Joaquim plus Godfrey added to the successful entertainment of the day and I cannot fail to mention the young Alto Sax player Adrian De Souza who played and improvised wonderfully and without a doubt he will progress to be a great player in the near future. Many good bands would love to include him in their setup.

Melvyn Fernandes kindly provided booklets titled 'Goa Historical Trail' which included words for I'm Proud to be a Goan. Words and Music by Basilio Magno hosted on the website http://www.melgoans.com/

No Goan occasion is complete without good food. The caterers certainly provided great dishes and Betty and I enjoyed the Sorpotel which was delicious. Samosas and Bhagias were also great.

To conclude, once again Congratulations to you and your team and  best wishes to everyone who attended the great World Goa Day making it a most successful event.

Betty and I too enjoyed every moment, and I am so pleased I was able to assist in providing my PA Sound System for the Picnic & Entertainment celebrations. It was also great meeting up with other fellow musicians and good old friends to include Romeo & Sabina Nazareth who have come all the way from Moshi Tanzania.

As a token of rememberance, please click on the links below to view some of the photographs taken by Betty and myself.

P.S. Sorry I missed out the Sporting Action as I had to be on stage monitoring the Sound etc.

Regards
Benny & Betty
